"Our family traveled a long journey of infertility, foster care and adoption. After several years on this road, I found myself bogged down by worries, jealousy, fears and the inability to turn my will over to my Father in Heaven. I went to the scriptures for comfort and felt prompted to learn more about hope. The farther I delved into the topic of Hope, the more I felt my faith, peace and joy increase.
Hope became my motto.
“A Lively Hope” is a phrase found in 1 Peter 1:3. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”.
I love the image of ‘lively’ hope. This is not a ‘sitting-around-crossing-my-fingers-and-wishing’ type of hope. It’s lively. It’s active. Because I have hope I am enthusiastic. I am motivated to put in the hard work necessary to reach my goals. And because I have hope, I am trying to help others find it as well." - Heidi Hillman
